My name is Martina Gumpal.
I am a mother of two, ages eight
and three years of age.
I am a registered Midwife (Philippines) and a certified personal support worker. I possessed Standard CPR and first aid training level C. I am kind, caring, compassionate, easy going, independent, understanding, patient, reliable, honest, mature, trustworthy, responsible and hardworking individual.
I am passionate and take pride in my work.
I am interested in finding a position that will allow me to utilize my work experience as a personal support worker. I have twenty years of experience in elderly care, along with my experience working with families as a caregiver. I have a G license and own a vehicle. I am looking for a full time live out position for day or night shift from Monday to Sunday. I will be flexible for the right family that who will hire me. I can start as soon as possible.
Here are the essential functions that I performed:
Personal Care:
Provide assistance with: bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheel chair, walker, crutches, cane), provide assisstance with toileting, commode, incontinent care, bowel care, meal planning or preparation, assistance with feeding and tube feeding, assist and perform exercise, assist in walking, assist in getting in and out of bed, assist in walking with walker, perform exercise with direct instruction from physiotherapist, perform massage, perform chest physiotherapy, apply Mepilex and cream to avoid bedsores, dressing wound, turn and reposition patient to avoid bedsore, monitor and report any abnormal changes such as: signs and symptoms of headache, fever, dizziness, pale, sweaty, nausea, vomiting, edema,
swelling, skin discolouration, pain, bleeding, shortness of breath, increase heart rate, increase or decrease of blood pressure, any pain, stomach upset, diarrhea, constipation, spasm, blisters, bruises, monitor any side effects of prescribed medication, assistance in pre- operative care and post- op surgery, monitor any side effect or sign and symptoms after Chemo treatment, assist in ICU and ward. Use bell for any emergency and assistance, report nurse on duty for any emergency situation or abnormal changes. Call 911 for any emergency situation and inform families right away, documentation and consistent communication regarding the patient towards the family through text.
Companion/Sitter:
Household Management
Provide companionship and respite services for family. Drive and transport client through wheel trans or pedicab to their medical appointments.
Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, cleaning surfaces, sanitize personal belongings, wash and clean walker’s or wheelchairs, sweeping or mopping floors, taking care of dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, fold and putting laundry away, cleaning bathrooms, organize clothing, drawers, cupboards and closet, maintain garbage and recycling bins.
I do errands and perform all other duties as necessary.
Medication Services:
Assist and remind medications that the client self-admininister.
